Program sent me the seedlings to this album 6 years ago- 4 tracks and a skeleton laid out for a 20 track LP. None of those original 4 tracks made the cut, and the album ended up only being half the proposed length of the original. Im not sure what was the cause of the staggered and sporadic output from Pgm over the course of the last 6-7 years, but he re-emerged at the tail end of 2020 and made a splash with a second instrumental album followed by a slew of singles. I recently spoke with Pro on the phone and he briefly broke down the process behind GFTW and the woes of making an album. "I hated rap music for so fuckin long and I didnt even know it. I couldnt commit to the album cuz I fuckin hated it. Once i re-fell in love with hiphop I realized it took me so long to finish the fuckin album because I fuckin hated it. But i dont hate it no more so ima get it done. I wanna get the shit over with cuz the next shit ima do after this is gonna fuck people up for real. Im really gonna peel some wigs back."
